Issues to be discussed:
• Ukraine and Multicultural World. The issues of globalization and national self-identification. Ethno-cultural identity. The rights of the indigenous population. International initiatives: the UNO, UNESCO, the EU. Two types of society’s integration- the American one (i.e. based on economic integrity) and the European one (based on intercultural dialogue).
• The Multinational World of Ukraine. Insuring intercultural dialogue- the role of the state and civic initiatives. Forming and preserving cultural heritage. Developing the culture of intercultural communication and the ways to perceive cultural diversity. Education as an aiding factor in preserving the rights of the indigenous population. Social culture and the nature of ethno-political conflict.
• Language Strategies as Building Factors of Intercultural Dialogue. Language interaction in a poliethnic area. The role of a state language in society’s consolidation.
• The Culture of Modern Mass-Media and their Role in the Ways Cultural Diversity is Perceived.
